The thought came to me, "Why don't you just give it a rest?"
Give it a rest, yea, all those years, all those experiences, and yes, all the memories.
Give them a rest. Let them go. That's what came to mind as I thought about resurrecting
the gcalumni.net web site. I just couldn't forget about it anymore, not with the
disconnection and estrangement I sometimes feel being gay with a Christian heritage.
No, with such an awesome chance to make a difference in my own life and maybe in the lives of many others,
I had to let it shine. For better or worse, for the good things and the "bad" ones, my years of experience growing up as a gay man in Christian schools played a major part in
making me who I am today. So I resisted once again that voice encouraging me to "give it a rest".
Yet what would I do differently? Cosmetics, yes. Update and improve the look and feel of the site.
Make it fun, informative, and galvanizing. I'll be continually working on that part
for some time to come. But Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Alumni of Christian Academies,
Colleges and Universities is back online!
